Sad isn't it? Mummy prefers the new guy's bad boy genetics so male child is no value. Notice the use of toddler in the headline. If the child had been female it would have been 'baby girl', but then a female child probably wouldn't have been beat to death.

look at the scabs on the mother's chin. seems like she's a meth addict.

the story also sounds a bit fishy to me, like the mom is setting up the boyfriend. she'll get a plea deal, he'll get a harsh sentence.
