i am no comic nerd, i only know about superman from the 70s films (which i loved as a kid)

this seems really lame because it is not different at all, it just seems like a low budget retelling but with a female lead and some heavy propaganda about "women's roles" thrown in.

its patronising and insulting, it also subconsciously suggests women (and men) cant identify with a character unless they share the gender.

i love the creators stupidity

yet his "project" only exists because women cant identify with a man lead so they basically have to retell the story based on the same premise but with a women instead.

anyone who has seen ALien or Aliens knows full well you can identify with a strong female lead (as a man) and that a woman being a lead in no way detracts from the believability or story. but alien(s) is well made and not reactionary moron fodder for wannabe princesses with huge insecurities.

if this show had a new angle or dynamic in the story that justified its existence then fine, but it just seems a badly made copy paste pirate version on superman for women under the premise that women cant identify or share male characters in film.

most people dont bat an eyelid of the gender of a character only the believability, for example a female M in james bond, is no big deal, its believable and she is a strong good character you can identify with, but if she was 20 and looked like a bimbo it would be unbelievable, the same is true of male leads, you couldnt replace gene hackman as a vilian with some 20 year old hair gel model it would be ridiculous and unbelievable.

this show will be a huge huge failure for sure (id put money on it)

Who is willing to bet this show will be weeks of her fighting against evil men looking to destroy the world. Will they actually show evil women trying to do the same? Probably not.
