Despite the supposed "equality in the workplace" the men are still expected to be the bread winners of the family. Of course, a family is a huge financial burden. So, if men are making less than single, working women, the man's family is making less.
Men are very much, on average, minimalists. If you don't believe me, compare a male bachelor's residence to a single female's residence.
Not saying men don't buy stupid stuff, however, IIRC statistically, they are more likely to save their money.
So, really, the only reason for a man to want to make more money is so that he can provide a better life for his family. And when you have single women taking up most of the high paying jobs, it isn't really bothering the men, it's having the greatest effect on the wife and kids of the man.
Once again, feminism is women's worst enemy.
