How to close the gender gap:

forbid female students from studying uneconomical disciplines like art, literature or feminist studies
Require women to work as many hours as men
Require women to take their share of the dirty, back-breaking, isolating and dangerous jobs. 95% of workplace deaths are male.
Forbid women from retiring early so that they benefit from seniority
Require divorce courts to grant men custody, thus freeing women to focus on their careers
Require women to choose wage over job security, pension and benefits. 80% of the layoffs in the last recession were male.

What makes me laugh the most is that Equal work for equal work is already in the Alberta Human Rights act. "Where employees of both sexes perform the same or substantially similar work for an employer in an establishment the employer shall pay the employees at the same rate of pay."

And I can almost hear people screaming "But Murder is also illegal and that doesn't stop them from doing it" but the problem is that if you suspect someone of murder you report it to the proper authorities. Same goes for wage differentials based on gender.
