The Australian Human Rights Commission has never had a male sex discrimination commissioner (six females). The term of the current sex discrimination commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick, expires in September 2015. Her last term of appointment was for one year, so I imagine that it is quite possible that her term will be further extended.
Ms Broderick has demonstrated a strong and consistent degree of anti-male bias as described in this blog post: http://www.fighting4fair.com/uncategorized/gender-bias-at-the-australian-human-rights-commission/
I know full well that it would be an uphill battle but it could not hurt if as many people as possible were to contact the Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Attorney-General George Brandis to:
Seek a commitment that Ms Broderick's term will not be further extended and
Ask that proper consideration be given, in the interests of gender equity, to appointing a suitably qualified man to this position
