I don't like all of the MRA issues, but I think this is a big one. IMO, the child support system is broken and rife with abuse, almost unilaterally at the expense of men.

For example, child support, almost everywhere, is taken as a percentage of the parent's income, NOT as a representation of what the child needs. That means a parent with high income pays a ridiculous amount of child support, far in excess of what the child needs, which in turn will fund the custodial parent's personal expenses.

Another problem with this situation is that child support is based on income potential, not actual income. So a person without a job might be attributed child support payments equal to a minimum wage, full-time job. Or more upsetting IMO, a person working overtime will be expected to continue working overtime as long as he is able to. The courts are not receptive to people switching to jobs with lower stress or better safety standards. Somehow, that's not considered good for the children.

Child support laws (in the U.S. at least) are unjust and need reform, badly.
