Gender studies isn't something I'm passionate about, but I'd like to learn more because I do want to be part of the solution. There are clearly vast inequalities against men and women and I want to learn more about them in depth.

I've already taken and aced intro to sociology but the material covered didn't really answer any questions. Honestly, my very unbiased sociology professor just echoed a lot of what has been said here. I've also had other self proclaimed "feminist" professors confirm much of what we say as well (they were "old school" feminists).

I'm specifically curious about your experiences in a gender studies class. Did it help you understand the feminists concerns? Did you learn anything relevant? Were your suspicions confirmed?

I'm just trying to gain a better perspective and wondering if I'd be better off banging my head against a wall.
