This is 100% speculation, but there could be other factors, such as the likelihood of men to take on those late night shifts that typically pay more. Remote rural work can come with a bump in pay too. More O/T hours would increase the pay by a factor of 1.5 while increasing hours by a factor of 1, creating the illusion of more pay per hours worked.

Like I said, 100% speculation. But those might be some reasons behind the pay inequity.

I was shocked to see this article. Everything I have heard about nursing is that it is a female bastion.

On first glance the data sources do seem credible. But I am not an expert in statistical analysis.

Does anyone out there in this subreddit have a link to any other studies that tell a different story? I find it very hard to believe. I presume that it just falls under the usual feminist disinformation department.

What is worrisome is that the more this kind of story gets published and goes unquestioned, the more women gain power at the expense of men.

Seriously how dishonest are these "researchers" if they don't carry on factoring out other items when they know for a fact that the first bunch they tried made a big difference?
