Numbered? There hasn't been a western patriarchy in at least one hundred years, what we have is a complex system with both patriarchal and matriarchal elements. And will the matriarchal element get stronger? No, not now that feminism's usefulness to the plutocrats is coming to an end. If anything, it will be the patriarchal element that becomes stronger over the next few decades.

I think it will result in the emergence of an actually patriarchy. You cannot keep pushing men out of the world men built and not expect them to leave and then go on and build something new. Feminist seem to think that men being disenfranchise from society is a sign of positive change. I think it just may well be but not for the reasons they hope. The world of today is a women's world, it's time for men to leave it and build a better one..

"What does this gender flip mean for people other than women? Will it lead to female gender dominance? Not if men proactively fit themselves into these new roles that require a different set of skills. It might also give them the chance to redefine themselves."
