I post this for discussion reasons.

I have always found it odd how often I see women in my personal life want a "rape fantasy" and then I see this data.

Somehow I feel the "rape culture" and the seeming interest with rape fantasies are just rather odd and there is much more too it.

Always be wary of survey results outside of a strict scientific context. It is oh-so-easy to bias the survey by design in a way that will be entirely hidden, unless people really deeply drill down into how the survey was run.

People around here should be intensely aware of that, of course. "1-in-5" (now "1-in-4" in some circles) and the Whil Wheaton affair are absolutely shining examples.

I assume it has to do with the aspect of a dominant male that the woman is attracted to, ravishing them...not being humiliated by a man they are repulsed by...there is a line there. Being assertively ravished by a dominant attractive male, and those that desire "rough sex", are this way, but that does NOT mean an open invitation for anyone to come up and rape them. But then again, I'm a male and cannot speak for women, I hope some women read and respond to this to agree or disagree.
