Don't get me wrong, a lot of these campaigns are perfectly fine, it's just that they seem to be unnecessarily targeted towards helping only women with the disease they're raising for.
Take "Wear Read Day" for example. Why exclusively try to improve women's cardiovascular health when BOTH genders obviously have hearts and BOTH genders are almost equally impacted by heart disease?
The CDC says that the leading cause of death in women is heart disease...but guess what it is for men...
I get the impression that raising money for men who are suffering isn't as valuable to these causes as raising for women. Surely that's not right?
