Back Ground: I go to a private high school in Southern California and run cross country for this school. This was the first year that both the male and female cross country team have been combined. The guy head coach got another job so we now run under the girl's head coach.

The policy requiring guys to run with a shirt on has been in place at the school for many years but was never enforced. Now that the teams have been combined, some of the girl coaches think it's "unfair" that guys get to run with shirts off while girls can't.

I have never understood the rational of making guys run with shirts. It's more comfortable to run without one due to the hot temperatures we practice in every afternoon. Running without a shirt is not only legal in my area, but socially acceptable.

Since it's private school and they can enforce any rule they want to. I still want to try and fight it and get the policy changed. Is there any advice on how to get the school to do this? Such as get the guys to sign a petition or any other ideas.
