Most of them that keep talking about false accusations aren't really afraid of false accusations. They are afraid of legitimate accusations against themselves for things they have done in the past. They are just pushing the topic to prevent victims from coming forward and to discredit them.

This is a comment from that sub. How does this make sense?

First of all, the commenter has no way of knowing of what the true intentions of those who complain about false accusations are.

Second, how is complaining about the social and the possible legal consequences of being falsely framed for rape going to help cover up actual rapes that they supposedly committed? If anything, they want more investigations to prove innocence beyond a reasonable doubt instead of just assuming the guy is guilty just because a girl said so. If the logic here is "they are afraid of their past crimes being exposed", its not going to go very far.

Third, how is emphasizing due process going to discourage actual victims from reporting? If it really happened to you then nothing would change. Its the ones who lie about it who should be worried.
