Suburb of Ft. Worth, TX

I began a modification more than a year ago. I could not afford an attorney at the time. In a small town outside of Ft. Worth where my ex's attorney is the local octopus... tentacles everywhere. (I grew up in this small town and he's notorious for fucking people over.)

Everything my ex/her attorney have done has been to delay and spit in my face. I'm trying to get my support changed to an appropriate amount (25 pct) and have my kids put on my (very very good) insurance. I am currently paying 250 a month for ex's insurance, which sucks/has high copays.

Because of some health issues I had to change jobs. I have been working one job for 18 months and the other is temp work that may or may not last/be renewed. They're delaying so that my income increases, but it's temp work and I'm going to be screwed when it dries up.

Have had 4 hearings altogether... A family member has paid for me to have an attorney in the 2 most recent ones. I am not sure if he's incompetent or if he's in with the octopus I mentioned above. This stuff has really fucked with my head, but I'm 100 pct sure my attorney isn't representing me well. The money has been gifted to me to hire another attorney, but afraid to do so in my town because of the octopus.

My kids/ex live in another county, but the case/divorce is in mine. I want to get this modification all wrapped up and then moved out of here to get away from the octopus.

So... anybody know of a good attorney in Tarrant county (Fort Worth) that I should contact?

I did contact Fathers for Equal Rights, but the person who I spoke to said I have to some in and pay them 350 to see what services they offer. I am willing, but it's a long drive. Hoping somebody here has good leads.

Thanks!

(Example of the bullshit my ex has pulled- there's a lot more. These are just the things that are eating me up right now.

at the 4th hearing for this modification I was presented with 3500 in medical bills... many from 6-7 years ago. They made up a form for these dozens of bills and wrote that she handed the bills to me at pick up... No dates, no proof. It's simply a lie. In fact, I was out of state working on some of the times she claimed to have provided them. My attorney didn't even bat an eye.

Also, I have NEVER received any medical insurance documents. My attorney won't bring it up or file for contempt. There is a larger pattern of withholding information from me (NCP) that he ignores.,)
