For Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (like myself) that are interested to provide expert responses to members of this forum and the community in general, I am interested to better understand how guys approach a divorce. In particular, I am interested to understand how guys educate themselves and select a legal team.

From my experiences, I commonly see guys who have fallen into the death spiral of having far less financial means than the court perceived. In some cases, they have become a financial 'prisoner' of their spouse or ex-spouse because they no longer can afford to litigate for their justice. Too often, I find this occurs when a guy previously made ineffective settlement decisions because of poor or inadequate knowledge and want to understand this root cause better.

I am interested to collect anecdotes for how guys educated themselves, found attorneys, and (if relevant) decided on the use of experts.
