I'm in a bad situation. Married for only 1 year, bought a house in my name because my soon to be ex wife had bad credit. Wife filed for divorce, got a temporary forcing me out of the house. Now she is delaying divorce to stay in the house while I pay the mortgage. I keep hearing nightmare stories about ex's staying in houses for years. I can't afford to pay a mortgage and move on with my life. I don't know what to do but her last husband got stuck in the same situation. He foreclosed on the house and the bank made her move out. Her ex then caught up the mortgage and moved back in.

Has anyone been forced to do this?

How should I proceed?

What are the legal ramifications, if any?
