Hello everyone, hope you're doing great. I'm here because I'm having some serious doubts at this point. I'll write this out, and you all can feel free to rip me apart in the comments, if need be. I love my wife very much. But at this point I'm just out of patience. I feel like I've been jumping through hoops for her like some kind of trained dog for years now. Let me take you back to the beginning. We talk to my sister in law, (her sister.) Said sister has a history of mental illness- depression mostly. I don't judge her for that, I totally get it. I've been there too. Said sister tells her, come stay with us for a bit, (another state). We'll put you up until you can find your own place. What the hell, says I, let's do it. We pack up everything. I train my tail off to get a CDL. I get a job. We're ready to rock and roll after a few months. I'm working, I'm making good money. Let's buy a house! Mom (my mom) is living the good life in retirement, and I'm happy for her. Out of the blue Mom sends us a substantial amount of money. Thought you guys could use a down payment, she says. Well screw me with a sweater vest, I say. Wow! I have no words for this kindness. Sister in law doesn't want us to leave. Begs my wife to stay with her. I am not without sympathy- that connection helps her with her mental illness. I get that. She needs some kind of support. Let me add at this point I am NOT happy staying with the in laws. We do not get along. Actually, my sister in law is pretty cool. We get along ok. Her husband is a flaming asshole. I do not even pretend to like him. Her kids, we keep our distance but don't get along. At least we can be civil. So ok, for wife's sake I'll grin and bear it. I go to the gym most evenings. I go to the library. I stay the hell away from everyone, because I know it's not going to be easy. Now, recently. My sister in law, may the gods grant her peace, passes away. Now flaming asshole husband wants to get us gone. Long anf involved story short, flaming asshole throws me out. She's welcome to stay there. I'm all too happy to comply,I didn't want to be here in the first place. And have communicated that time and time again. But again, my sister in law and wife are thick as thieves. And sister in law is doing better mentally. Time to find a new place to live. We're working on it. I wasn't making enough at my then- job, so am changing positions to a much more stressful but much better paid one. The wife tells me, hey, let's move back to our home state. Her parents will put us up until we can get settled. I had another job lined up. I have a career. But ok, I'll follow you, assuming you know what the hell you're doing. So, this plan gets revealed to me Saturday afternoon. Monday morning would have found me at the new job, working away. So ok. I come back to the home state we left to spend six years living with my in laws. This, let me emphasize, was not the plan coming down there. A couple months, three or four at the outer limit- that was what I went there assuming. That is, when we moved there to stay with my sister in law. But no, let's pull stakes and go back to the state where her parents live. (This is in the US, if that helps any). So now, after turning down one job in the state I had spent six years living in, everything in order, I now have to jump through countless hoops to get my Class A license transferred to the state we left all those years ago so I can actually find a job. (I work as a truck driver). No plan for me, she however has already secured a position in the state we're moving to. So she's all set. And now, I just can't do it any more. I feel like I've moved heaven and hell for her, and have reached my limits. I left a job that would have left us in the black to come back here and start all over. I know you're supposed to love your spouse but I can't keep uprooting everything just to follow her. Well, like I said if I'm in the wrong don't hold back. I think it's maybe time to start living my own life though. If I can do all this for her, maybe I'm better off on my own. Whether this is due to emotions running high, I'm not sure. Thanks for making it this far though.
