Yep, I saw that exact post you’re talking about. Had to block that sub because it’s just a bunch of women complaining that their boyfriends won’t propose to them. Even mentioning that a woman should propose is just met with a swarm of negativity and downvotes

I never proposed to my wife. One night after being together for 4 years we had the discussion about marriage we agreed we’d like to get married so we started planning and got married later that year. It was a small ceremony but everyone who mattered was there and we both thought it went well.

A few years ago my niece was complaining her partner hadn’t proposed to her and that he had too in the next couple of years, he closes down when ever the subject is brought up so it’s became like a joke to tease him. I said to my niece “you know women can propose to men nowadays” and I was met with absolutely not by all of my nieces. My nieces are very story book perfect with their lives like nothing ever goes wrong for them, they post everything on their social media’s baby announcements, new house announcements, getting engaged announcements, anniversary announcements, everything is story book perfect in their lives they would never break that.

Also had the conversation of “bad guys vs good guys” my 16 year old niece told me she’d rather had someone who treated her bad than someone who’d treat her nice because “nice guys are boring”
