The interesting part is that men dissociate sexual attraction from moral judgement more than women. I would argue that mixing morality and sexual appeal is weirder than what men are being accused of.

Gender differences in sexual attraction and moral judgement: research with artificial face models (2018)

Sexual attraction in humans is influenced by cultural or moral factors, and some gender differences can emerge in this complex interaction. A previous study found that men dissociate sexual attraction from moral judgment more than women do. Two experiments consisting of giving attractiveness ratings to photos of real opposite-sex individuals showed that men, compared to women, were significantly less influenced by the moral valence of a description about the person shown in each photo. There is evidence of some processing differences between real and artificial computer-generated faces. The present study tests the robustness of González-Álvarez’s findings and extends the research to an experimental design using artificial face models as stimuli. A sample of 88 young adults (61 females and 27 males, average age 19.32, SD = 2.38) rated the attractiveness of 80 3D artificial face models generated with the FaceGen Modeller 3.5 software. Each face model was paired with a “good” and a “bad” (from a moral point of view) sentence depicting a quality or activity of the person represented in the model (e.g., she/he is an altruistic nurse in Africa vs. she/he is a prominent drug dealer). Results were in line with the previous findings and showed that, with artificial faces as well, sexual attraction is less influenced by morality in men than in women. This gender difference is consistent with an evolutionary perspective on human sexuality.

Even in politics and at the national level, this behavior is almost consciously maintained and with such a heavy vitriol. The closest insult to this I can think of is JD Vance's "childless cat ladies" comment, which comes from his traditionalist understanding that childfree (ie. people who are intentionally childless) women have a disproportionate control over the country despite not being as invested in it as mothers are. This is indeed an inflammatory comment but he did not seem to mention the appearances of AOC or Kamala Harris in his quote.

One counterargument to the earlier paper's conclusion can be as follows: feminists interpret Freud's Madonna-whore complex (MWC) as a phenomenon in which the patriarchy controls female sexuality through slut-shaming - labelling women as either sexually attractive or trustworthy. Thus, attractive women can be judged as promiscuous and by consequence, morally flawed, and the converse would also be true (sexual immorality -> high sex appeal). However, the MWC doesn't actually have much quantiative backing (like many of Freud's other psychoanalytic theories), and in addition, sexual double standards are not commonplace with the exception of men engaging in masturbation and porn use:

Rather than women being judged harshly for engaging in porn use, masturbation, and sex toy ownership, they were actually judged to be a slightly more suitable partner for a male friend in short-term contexts, regardless of participant gender, while this aspect of their history had little influence on their suitability as a long-term one. Men in contrast were judged as negatively on the basis of their self-stimulating behavior—more so by women than men and particularly in long-term contexts. Notably, promiscuous women were not evaluated more negatively than promiscuous men in long-term MCs.
