Great post man. My ex was RP, and I always found it crazy how he claimed TRP had set him free and made him happy, but what I saw was a man whose existence was based around the very thing he said he didn't care about and becoming increasingly worried and paranoid. They portray themselves as having a strong sense of self-esteem but I think it's just superficial.

Happily married never-RP here: sex is overrated anyway. Like any other dopamine source like videogames or hiking or martial arts or mediation or good food or drugs/alcohol or porn, kissing/hugging/foreplay/sex has diminishing returns. Sure it's nice to have a balanced life and get intimacy but ask any married couple or parents, it's nothing to obsess over.

Firstly, the act of obsessing ruins healthy intimacy anyway. It should feel comfortable and natural, not nervous and forced, and you do that by forming relationships in a natural-ish fashion not by scoring hookups and rounding the bases. Of course anyone who hasn't experienced that will think I'm exaggerating, but seriously you think your first kiss was awkward, try initiating sex with someone you've met an hour ago, best case it feels like a hooker who doesn't charge, worst case you don't want to talk or think about how embarrassing it was the next morning. That's not self-hating redpillism, that's just our messed up dating culture. The chances it turns into real intimacy (which by the way is emotional intimacy, nothing to do with clothes or genitals) or a real relationship are slim to none. Real relationships are formed serendipitously and gradually, like finding out the person planting trees alongside you is both funny and single.

Second, as anyone who's done too much of a good thing knows, you need balance and in a long term relationship that usually means both time to yourselves and time spent constructively, like baking cookies together or weeding the garden together or making sure the dog gets fed and walked. Sure you might screw like rabbits at first but over 5, 10, 25 years you're going to realize that the real relationship goal is her wanting you to take her to the movies and help create a stable clean home, and you wanting her to join your Diablo game and hand you socket wrenches while working on the car together. Or whatever. In other words, helping each other achieve your respective goals which hopefully overlap. That restlessness you get after a climax? That's not cuz you're single, that's cuz humans aren't built to stay in bed all day and use their genitals ten times in a row without stopping for water, food, showering, and a dry bathrobe on a comfortable clean couch. All of which takes work. And here's the kicker: real maturity is knowing that the work involved in having a decent life is half the reward. Homemade pie tastes better not because it is better, but because you made it and feel a sense of fulfillment from it. Nobody's dog is as cute as yours, not because of objectivity but because you feed the damn thing and help it grow into the good dog you know it is.

TLDR: there's no shortcut for doing the work of living a decent balanced life. Many have tried, and as the public self-destruction of Elon Musk most recently shows, even a million bucks, a famous girlfriend, and all the weed you want are no substitute for 8 hours of sleep, a balanced homemade breakfast, some chores and some sense of accomplishment however small. If you have a partner to share that with all the better, but the work starts with you. (And what's worse than a miserable unbalanced life as a single loner? Two people sharing two slightly different miserable unbalanced lives under the same roof!) Work on your own wellbeing and depression and things will fall into place.
