I've been wasting my time reading the usual studies on hypergamy and I always end up asking the same question: why do these men using these studies/articles ignore the role of men?

Months ago, someone came here and asked why he should leave RedPill, and attached Yu Qian's study to "prove hypergamy".

Well, I read it.

Yu Qian explained that men have worse self-esteem when their partners are more successful than them, and that might have an effect when choosing their partners. He also noted that men in more progressive societies have become more interested in women's resources, but as long as they don't outweigh their own resources.

This kind of information is also repeated, more men than women still think that men should be providers in their households.

Also many more months ago, I was discussing on tuiter with some MGTOWs and they attached just because (because it was obvious they had not read the material) more articles about hypergamy. Well, those sources ended up concluding that men felt depressed and impotent (literally, they had erection problems) by not being the main providers in their relationships.

Also, a few weeks back I was talking about that with an ex-mgtow who still doesn't relate to women and is still a brutal misogynist, I told him: I don't understand your view that MGTOWs are too progressive (because part of what made him leave MGTOW is that according to him they had become "progressive" and that in his view some relevant MGTOW figures seemed to take crash courses in feminism and "new masculinities"), because I have never seen any of them express that men should be able to be at home raising their children, on the contrary, I find more MGTOWs longing for "the old days" where men had to provide. What I mean, is that the same general view that men have about their role in their relationships, is repeated in spaces supposedly critical of the role men have to fulfill in their relationships.

Am I hallucinating? It seems to be men themselves who want to be in relationships where they provide, i.e. hypergamous relationships.

P.S. I also see an exaggerated focus on white or high economic status couples, to the point that there is talk of a supposed marriage crisis among educated women because they supposedly continue to have very high standards, when in fact it is in those areas where there are more marriages. The marriage crisis is present in the lower class, as is single motherhood.

P.S.2: also Yu Qian's study considered in his study that men with little education benefited from the status of their more educated wives, that is, they practiced educational hypergamy...And again, this will not be taken into account by any RedPiller to continue to traumatize men with the idea that women want men better than themselves in every aspect because why not.
