This is what fds has helped me realize. I was always moping about the quality of life hit I took when I started dating someone. Turns out dating is optional and I can just have a high quality of life all the time

Eh yes and no. This person has definitely never had to deal with actual harmful situations in real life. I've been bullied all my life and I can tell you for a fact that just because you SEE yourself as the bigger person chances are others will just see you as weak. I've ignored bullies out of cluelessness before and it definitely got worse and more harmful as I let it continue. Of course, if it's just some random online bully then screw them but if it's a person in your life making problems you've GOT to deal with it. Whether it's telling them to fuck off/exposing their ass (in a classy way) or reporting them to a higher authority because trust me when I tell you that they will never leave you alone.
