Has anyone else previously ended up seeing a manipulative much older man? Wtf is with them!?

I know of a high conflict divorce case that lasted close to 8 years in the family court system, including the wife’s appeal of the lower court decision, that had almost a factually-identical start to the relationship. They were coworkers, she was 16-years his junior. His first wife left him right after their second child was born.

Three years later, she had his oops baby and he married her even though he wasn’t really in love with her. He just used her as a stepmom appliance for his then 7 and 3 year old kids from his first marriage, during which he was lusting after her while he was her older married coworker — he probably cheated on his first wife.

It eventually destroyed her career. She had to do all the work at home and couldn’t focus on work like he could. His career was very successful, he played a ton of golf and spent gobs of money on strippers, while she raised 2 step kids and 2 biological kids, and he earned about 10 times what she did.

I dated a man 18 years older than me. He lived with his parents, had to borrow his mom’s car, and had no steady work. I have no idea why early 20s me thought this man was it! Same shit with grooming and compliments, but once we were together he put no effort into our relationship. He traveled for “work” (he had acting gigs nothing big or serious though) and I would playfully ask for souvenirs. One time he brought me back A ROCK because it made him “think of me”. This was an almost 50 year old man! I cringe at my past mistakes
