I made this guy friend a few years back and he was always so funny and he'd talk over me about his issues and I'd just assume they took precedence over mine. I'd stay up late to listen to him talk about his family problems. Some girls with I guess more charisma and charm came along and he ghosted me, all of our other friends, and would ignore me in public. It stung a lot. LVM are always trying to "level up" their female friends, play the role of the nice guy in the friends group, but their end goal is trophy female friends that'll listen to their problems with no reciprocation.
Today, I just got off the phone with two of my male friends that listened to me vent about a situation I've had difficulty dealing with for almost an hour. They proceeded to recommend me music to make me feel better, played my favourite online game with me, and then taught me how to play this other video game. They listened to me talk about skincare and room decor, things that they're not too interested in but they invested in the conversation before bidding me goodnight and telling me to call again if anything happens. These are HVM. They're thoughtful, care about me as an individual and have emotional depth. (I know for a fact that they do not have feelings for me, our relationship is very siblingly).
These men DO exist. DO NOT settle for a fixer upper, or a guy that just assumes the universe revolves around him. Obviously I haven't dated these people, but being around HVM makes me understand that I should not have to lower my standards for a guy that doesn't deserve me.
A lot of true nice guys don't feel the need to advertise the fact they're nice guys. If he's always talking about how he's so nice, and complaining about how everything goes wrong, he's not a nice guy, he's delusional.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
