I used to have this idea that the person you date in college is going to be more serious than high school and sure that can be true but now that college is ending and more of my friends are going away I’m seeing more and more relationships fade out and these men and women getting relationships more in line with their actual personality.

My question about this though is the forever girlfriend trope. I know some people now moving in together (or not) who have been together for years. But I’m not sure if it counts as a forever girlfriend sort of thing because we are all still in our early 20s.

So my question is along the lines of what’s an actual time frame for marriage when you start in college? I know some people who get married right after they graduate and it usually isn’t healthy and I know some people who are waiting to be more secure in their fields (but that could take 5-8 years). I was hoping to hear some opinions. Now I know that most people won’t stick together that long but early relationships in your young 20s I feel like should not try and get married as soon as possible.

What are your thoughts?
