There was a post here recently about how many of the posts on here are about one-upping men and not enough about self work, so I thought I should share a tiny success story that gives me hope for myself amidst a bunch of disappointments including not yet having been able to kick my ex out of the house. So here it is:
I used to be extremely, extreme naive... To the point of feeling guilt and remorse for basic self preservation stuff, e.g. I remember I had this super/well-knownly creepy classmate in high school. He tried to talk to me about something and I basically brushed him off and then for days worried that I hurt a human soul (dumb, I know!). Basically, I had been raised to mistrust my intuitions A LOT! however, recently, I have started to listen to myself.. and just last week I sniffed out two creepy men. I feel a lot of rage on behalf of the women they have hurt, but at the same time I feel a mild sense of relief? Confidence? Something like that, that I can see these some of these creatures for who they are. It's also scary because they are so many disgusting men out there.
So, last week: One of them is this guy who's always inviting a random female friend to join in any activity he and his long-time girlfriend is doing. I ran into him at a party and was anxious for two whole days. Later, I asked a mutual and he basically confirmed all my suspicions. Later that week, I found out about a guy who I found myself loathing for no obvious reason, that he, when he was 26, drugged his 20-yo girlfriend and to this date she doesn't know what happened.
