My downstairs neighbor is a good friend of mine. A bit before going back into quarantine, a mutual "friend" of ours forced me to drink (he pressured me and kept saying he bought the alcohol for meso I should be drinking it) and then tried to take advantage of me. It made me feel disgusting and completely unsafe. I was afraid to speak up and lose my downstairs neighbor as a friend because the POS that tried taking advantage of me was his childhood friend. I finally snapped and told my neighbor what happened. He listened quietly and at the end he said "first thing's first: I am letting everyone know this guy is no longer welcome to anything we organize. He is never gonna come close to you again. Now I want you to know that I am 100 % on your side and I'm really sorry you went through this. Even if he didn't succeed, it must be horrible to know that you were in danger with someone that was supposed to make you feel safe." Then he asked if I felt comfortable with him hugging me. I said yes. He held me and said I can come see him any time if I wasn't feeling well. Later, he knocked on my door. He brought me food. He said he knew I ate less when I was stressed so he wanted to make sure I was taking care of myself. He's checked on me every day since. He reminds me to eat, gets me to go out to take walks and is always there to make me smile.

HVM aren't only meant to be the men you date. Every man in your life should be HV.
