Crosspost "Why is there often so much cruelty and offence taken to women choosing to stay single?" from /r/fourthwavewomen:

This is an observation I have made more and more and I see it a lot on red pilled/manosphere type communities. Constant jokes and put downs about women choosing to be single like "Enjoy dying alone with your cats" and how wine and box set sales are going to increase. If these so called men are going their own way anyway, then why does it honestly bother them when women are choosing to live their lives how they choose and are not harming anyone in the process?

I am so tired of the double standards that exist where it's perfectly acceptable for a man to be single, but for a woman she is automatically a lonely cat lady (which is a pathetic stereotype and if cats and being alone make someone happy, that's wonderful), so why all the hatred and snide jokes or is it a control thing with these people?
