Sharing a thought I had. I try to do these journal type things to myself as Stoicism practice.

We're given life, along with a certain amount of time. The time doesn't belong to us, as it may be snatched away at any moment. However, we can spend our time freely. Once it's spent, there is no more.

Imagine we're all given $1000 at birth. It's all we'll ever get. In such a case, would you go around buying frivolous things? Things that won't retain their value? Or would you become a puppet to desires, gratifying your immediate urges and forgetting your future self? No. You'd do your research and seek out what's truly worth your money. Something that not only retains its value, but its value increases with time.

Anyway, not really an original thought, but figured I would share.
