The percentage of female pedophiles did not suddenly skyrocket over the last 15 years, they've been doing this forever. However, almost every one of them is getting caught red handed because of social media and texting. They can't resist using their phones to sext these kids, and now it can't be swept under the rug the way it was in years past. This isn't new behavior, it's a result of easier tracking and surveillance, combined with some minor changes in attitudes towards women and equality, that are allowing what was always going on to be uncovered.
