Could be something else is going on here. Perhaps the downplay of attractiveness is a device to mitigate the impact of rejection should it occur. "I'm not bothered he wasn't all that good looking anyway ".

It's complicated. First, women have low testosterone and so it takes a greater stimuli to get them horny. Second, without other knowledge, they are probably asking themselves: "Is this guy attractive enough to make me want to fuck him based upon looks alone?" Take that dead average guy and give him a dominant personality and wealth, and he will become fuckable. Women cannot parse their own internal reactions to things. Female self-knowledge is the most overrated concept on Earth.

It's because even average looking women are sort of cute when they are 18-25. Young women are desirable as sexual partners. So they get all this attention from men who will be well out of their league once they hit the wall. But women refuse to admit that, because it would shatter their world view. So even when she is 50 lbs over weight dragging two bastard children behind her she still expects to date top tier males.

It's one of the biggest causes of red pill rage. Most of us are regular guys. Smart. Clean. Good jobs. Halfway decent looking. And we are lucky if we manage to get laid a few times. Meanwhile Chad has to beat thots away with a stick.
