Can someone explain to me what the atar is ,im not overly familar.

It seems like it works on averages so it doesn't discriminate whether male or female.

But now the females scores will be inflated which defeats the whole point of it being average and performance based.

And that will boost the females numbers who enrol because they get a "hand up" which means they can graduate without having to work as hard thus taking the position of someone else more qualified?

Im seeing the same shit at the airlines and it’s really pissing men off. Women routinely getting hired by the good paying major airlines with way less flight time experience and many without any time spent as a captain. When less than 10% of the pilot demographic in the US is female, equality isn’t hiring 30-40% female pilot classes...

STEM has been rubber stamping female graduates that are grossly incompetent for at least 10 years. Most of them didn't actually graduate is what I am saying. They were just passed so they could say X number of girls graduated from STEM this year.

If I were hiring out of this uni, I would now assume that the women are under qualified for the job because they had to meet a lower standard.

Also, what happens if a man decides to identify as a woman to get the lower standard? It seems like they wouldn't be able to do a single thing about me changing my identity. Maybe I'll recognize as trans to get a boost in the application process for school or work? What could they say to me? Upon a challenge as to whether I'm trans or not, I would only need to deflect or hint that they are "nazis" for thinking such a thing and then I'd be golden.

They are adding 10 points to an educational assessment test called ATAR.

A referenced article noted:

Those with an ATAR between 30 and 49 are the most likely to drop out, with an attrition rate of about 24 per cent in 2014, followed by students with an ATAR between 50 and 59, with a dropout rate of 20 per cent.

That means you are admitting women who are more likely to drop out.
