Greeting friends of the MGTOW. Today I saw many posts about depressed men and how their life sucks. And I gotta say I have gone through many depressions as well. Honestly, they weren't anything really serious. Fortunately.

For me, it usually meant that my senses are dulled, I'd have no emotions and would become very nihilistic with no passion to do anything whatsoever. Actually I have never even thought of suicide as that would be a very cowardly way to go. So no matter how times were hard, suicide was never an option.

So, how can you overcome your depression?

I have 2 ways to deal with that:

  • Any time I feel like my life is hard (it never actually is if you compare that to what some people go thru in a 3rd world country..) and I need some relief I always remember my conversation I once had with my mom. Gotta admit she went thru much more than I did. Anyway I could about 14-15 years old and we had this discussion about our future. She was just complaining how hard her life is and I remember seeing this quote from Bruce Lee: "Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one." And when I feel down, I just remember me saying that and instantly I'm a bit impowered.

  • Other thing I recommend doing is just forcing yourself to do something productive no matter how much you hate doing anything at the moment. Especially if you are a lazy person like me, in times of depression you don't feel like doing anything and you would rather just lie in the bed all day. Just get up. Do something. Chop some wood. Go to the gym. Go to the swimming pool. Do something to your work/school. Start reading a book. Learn to meditate. Can be anything, as long as you are actively doing something, you actually forget for a moment that you are depressed :) And usually after you finish doing your activity, you feel better and that may actually get you out of depression.
