*warning: I treat this post as a form of exercise of my not-yet-perfect English skills as well as a form of extracting 'local' opinion about a topic that has been bothering me for some time now. I do not identify with MGTOW idology. Wise to say, yet.*
note: I am non-smoker, I do not drink, I do exercise, which is not what I am proud of, as I only think of those actions/decisions as a result of my frigid belief that my self-respect is best shown in practice.
Which means I do not want to show that I am in any way better than anybody, as pride is the first act of violence against honour.
So, I am currently attending a high school in Central Europe. And I have noticed that women in my age group - I am 19 -who smoke, drink or do both at the same time are quite numerous. Frankly, this lifestyle is drastically more common among people of my age than I used to believe not so long ago.
But that is just the introduction as men who do these are equally common. I may risk noting that men drink a bit more.
The problem I see is that some of the ladies here have developed an annoying attitude of - how do I even express that in English? - something like a combination of justification and propagation of public acceptation for their behaviour. Meaning: some women feel like it is normal for them to destroy themselves the way they do and some do believe it's men's fault that they can't seem to find a decent husband material. They do, sometimes, express that verbally in discussions, so it seems to be a concern.
I don't really consider myself a future husband, but I do consider some of my good pals as such and many do not seem to be bothered by this. Strangely enough! I would be bothered, very bothered by the fact my would-be-wife is ruining her health, putting her at risk of many diseases, some lethal, as well as putting the supposed children at great risk, finally, putting me at risk as a "passive smoker".
The smoking, the drinking, the late night parties, lack of regular sleep pattern, and, possibly more self-destructive forms of behaviour, which, as I do not believe anything that I can't prove (and this I cannot), I can only suspect, happen.
A good question to make now is: Why am I even talking about this just as an issue of women?
Well, I have never heard any justification for such destructive behaviour from men. I don't see or hear men ranting about how they can't find an attractive woman to date "because they [women] have weird obsession with my lifestyle". Of course, this might only occur as an effect of me not hearing or seeing the 'correct' part of male population, but, nonetheless, my experience says the situation is to some degree the way I have described it in this post
I know more or less what this subreddit is about. So, I ask you, mgtows, to show me research, show me data, which may explain - why on earth do seemingly so many girls justify such behaviour - and why guys seemingly would remain silent or change themselves rather than rant to other men?
