Now look I know none of you need the validation, but I just wanted to spit all this out.

Let's get this out of the way; I am a 19 yr old female. I never wear makeup, I grew up poor in the Midwestern slums of Nebraska. My family couldn't afford makeup - hell we couldn't afford food or clothes for a lot of the time. My mom had 3 husbands, all varying degrees of wealth, all ended up paying her child support in various percentages. I have 3 other siblings, whom I share a father with none of. I watched my mom gold-dig her way into a debt hole, finally being kicked out and forced to move back in with her parents at 40. She had no skills, her looks were fading, you get the picture. As I was growing up I really resented her. I read book, a lot. I got into a gifted program, then the international baccalaureate program, and finally a full ride into a University. I wanted to be valued for being smart. The idea of having value based on attractiveness and sex and....just being a fucking thot repulsed me. The University I got a full ride into was in Nebraska, and the only person I could live with in Nebraska was my mom. Here's where I get pretty stupid. I met a guy who told me he loved me and wanted a better life together yada yada yada. After online dating for a year I dropped my full ride to go live with him in another state. I made it clear that I didn't wear makeup, I didn't dress in Pink booty shorts, I didn't care how I looked as long as I looked like a functioning member of society. He told me it was fine and he valued me for my smarts and my wit and my humor anyway. And he cheated on my with an Instagram model.

Long story short its been hard to wonder if anyone would ever think that a smart woman, a funny woman, or a witty woman was worth anything close to a woman who can put on some makeup and sit in front of a camera. And in the weirdest way, this sub actually kind of comforted me. That there were men who despised the same sort of women I do. I just want to sort of say that you guys are on the right track in my opinion, you're right about the things that happen to those women as they age, and I really, truly hope that everyone here finds friends and success and happiness while GTOW.
