Last night I got a call from my wife asking f I could pick her and her chum up from town , my wife being in a very inebriated state.

Her friend who is a decent person felt Bad about me driving all the way into town to pick them up and insisted multiple times that she was happy to get a bus or taxi home (she is a fine person)

Of course my wife insists that it is fine and not a problem -and it isn’t at all.

So I drive to the opposite end of town and back to our town a few miles away.

The wife is very tipsy, displaying the usual drunk girl behaviour - all nice and giggly.

And then she starts pestering me for sex- now most guys would be up for it but that night I wasn’t feeling it , I’d been working all day and feeling a bit burnt out (I work for a major Oil and Gas company doing Business Analysis) as the pressure at work has been a bit intense recently.

And if I’m honest ....not a huge fan of Drunk Sex.

That’s where things started to turn....

It started with little remarks about how I never get drunk -I told her that I do drink but I don’t like to get wasted:

The conversation carried in that subject escalating by the minute the wife getting more and more serious.

I told her that it was my body and I can choose what I put into it - if I want to get drunk I will and i not be pressured into it.

At that point I was told I sound like a Woman.

Theaccusations led to me not doing my fair share of the house work and how she does everything.

The washing (laundry) was a big one.

Important fact: my wife gets three weeks off from her job (she is on a rotation) where she has all that time to herself.

I tell her that for when she is away working for 3 weeks , it is me that looks after house and that I don’t get the luxury of 3 weeks off work.

This is when I dropped a truth bomb.

“How can you accuse me of not doing my part when all you do is binge watch tv shows and I come home and clear up bowls, candy wrappers and empty dog food containers that you have just discarded on the kitchen top counter....I appreciate you work hard we you are away but Jesus Christ! Is Laundry that difficult !? Is it so wrong for me to expect you to take the lead on house work whilst I’m working ? You have entire weeks to yourself to do with what you want! I Don’t!”

At this point I know she is just gunning for an arguement and I’ve let her have it.

Cut to the bedroom - we are still arguing- I’m standing in the doorway of our Bedroom, she goes to slam the door in my face but she can’t close the door because I’m in the way ( I wasn’t deliberalty blocking )

At that point she shoves her palm into the side of my mouth and pushed me away.

I warn her that is the last time she ever puts her hand on me - she then proceeds to gently tap me -“come on then” - obviously trying to provoke me.

I’m not stupid - the laws in this country are still massively skewed In The favour of the female...I just walk away.

Then I got to thinking - a few weeks back we were in a hotel and we were teasing each other with comments - but I then said or did something she didn’t like because the next thing I know she has dug her nails in to the fleshy part of my hip and twists (A deliberate attempt to cause me pain) - that was the closest I came to Laying one on her....purely out of reaction.

I remember her pounding me on the back, throwing a set of keys at my head,

All of this spaced out over 4 years

I’m tired.....I’m not perfect and never will be, but who is?
