Something very similar actually happened to me.

So I work at a company and due to the nature of the business I have to deal with our bank on a daily basis for various functions.. so we get a dedicated account officer; let's call her MJ. She's cute, really really cute, a few years younger than me. I try to make my move but... nope, no way, it ain't happening; aside from business, she won't give me the time of day. Oh well, it happens.

Fast forward a few years, I leave that company, she's still at the bank, one of her co-workers there gets married to one of my co-workers at my new company... so I am invited to the wedding.

That was back when I was a simp, so ... I say yet, get a present, skip the church ceremony because fuck that (I was a simp but I was slowly getting wiser). I get to the reception and.. MJ and I are seated at the same table, next to one another. Uhm.. OK. I find the opportunity to ask my buddy and yes, I (we) got set-up.

MJ is all interested in me. I look at her and she's the book definition of post-wall; now approaching her late 20's; she used to be skinny now she's got broad hips; she used to be cute and... she ain't aging that well, still OK looking but barely "OK"; far from the MJ who would not give me the time of day and who was in my fapping fantasies.

And the conversation was all about her her her, how she was mistreated by her past boyfriends (Chads), how she "deserves better" and she's now ready to "settle down" with someone nice and caring and not the bad boys who hurt her (Chads).

I must say that I was tempted to give in a but to get my dick wet, I was a simp after all, but I resisted that temptation, part because of revenge for being discarded when she was in her prime, part because she was no longer that pretty, and part because she was on the hunt for a husband and I wanted nothing to do with that shit.

And this is one of the fundamental differences between men and women:

Guy's point of view: I don't feel special or warm and fuzzy being you second (more like third, fourth .... thirty-third) choice, now that you're past your prime, and you're looking for a Nice Guy; yeah... Nice Guys do finish last
Women's point of view: you don't finish last, you are the chosen one since she wants to marry you, she didn want to marry those fuckboys, that was just sex, you get the prize.

And women say that shit with a straight face; and actually believe it.

To be fair, I had a chick who rejected me in HS for some thug. Ran into her 12 yrs later and she wasn't fat..she just had 7 kids. Yeah, I rejected that date proposition lol.
