I honestly think most girls would keep it, sell it and hide the fact immediately.
The fact she has waited six months before asking is incredible.

The reply is actually wrong. 'Possession is 9/10 of the law'. There is a statute of limitations where after you legally own something after having it in your possession for a certain amount of time.

Well, the dude left it. So he’s a dumbass.
But she also probably lied about trying to get into contact with him. Plausible deniability and she’s asking how to sell it and not get caught. Read between the lines. Typical female tactic.
The real question is, can he prove she ever had it. And would anyone know where to look if she sold it through some medium or just fenced it.
Always actions to conceal those sorts of things. It’s not hard.

This ghosting wen horribly wrong, if this dumb fuck is willing to lose £5k on this bitch. How much would a collector charge to go and recover the watch for him?
Then again, who the fuck uses a watch in this day and age? To show off? Even that is better accomplished by having an expensive smartphone.

She claims her actions to have been decent in honestly trying to contact the guy. Something's fishy though - she can't get in touch in this day of LinkedIn and Fakebook?

She says "I could track him down through social media and take it to his office personally, but on the other hand. Why should i?"

Fact of the matter is that no one is responsible for the maintenance or safe return of any possessions which you show intentional disregard towards.
That said, the watch was not "forgotten" it was payment for the HIV treatment she's going to need. HAHA
