What is with this push in the mainstream media to make women as "badass" and "edgy" as possible?

There's a new Ariana Grande, a white girl who grew up in a rich white area of the U.S. and is not hard at all and they have her singing about being a "savage" and a "bad bitch", surrounded by black women (because the same white liberals who whine about cultural appropriation think it's fine for all African-Americans to be stereotyped as long as they make money off it), singing about buying a weave, etc.

It's cringey as fuck. If a skinny, suburban white bitch like her actually spent five minutes in a real U .S. hood she probably wouldn't make it out alive, lol. Does anyone actually take someone like her seriously trying to be a "badass bitch"? And who is behind this push in the media, they're even doing a Fast and Furious sequel with only "badass women".
