Do these stats say anything about how, specifically, the lack of a father figure increases the likelihood for these negative outcomes to occur? No, not specifically, it is only a record of observed trends where the father is absent.
HOWEVER
The stats do offer a strong refutation to two key feminist arguments:
1.) Men (read: fathers) are agents of the Patriarchy, the cause of all the above social ills. But when the father is absent, bad things still happen? How could that be? Can single moms also be agents of the Patriarchy? Internalized misogyny??? So it really doesn't make a difference if the father is removed, we can still expect the same negative outcomes, at the same rates. Must be something in the tap water.
and
2.) Gender might not be a "social construct" after all. If we're all the same, then moms should be just as capable parents as men. There shouldn't be such disparate outcomes with child development, if moms can "do it all" like a "man" can. Unless we're still unlearning Patriarchy? How many generations is that supposed to take???
one more point:
If we can unlearn gender "roles," why can't we do the same with sexual orientation?
How we operate, how we think, which are primary determinants for how we behave, we're allegedly supposed to be able to customize it without limitation, like we're in a character creator for a videogame.
But our sexual orientation? What our attraction is aligned with, a secondary determinant for our behavior? Somehow THAT is an immutable and unchangeable trait? Seriously???

I had no father growing up. He left my mother when I was 4, he was a lineman and fell 5 years later, sustaining massive head trauma that killed him a couple years later. I had to learn most "guy stuff" the hard way when I was in my mid 20s (basic car maintenance, power tools, how to use a gun) and believe me it was beyond fucking humiliating sometimes.
But I am proud to say that I have never done any jail time. No violent criminal behavior. To be quite honest I saw many kids I went to high school with from families that stayed together selling drugs, stealing, and engaging in general antisocial behavior. They did the jail time while their parents equally wept and scratched their heads. I had a stepfather for about 2 years that called me a lazy/queer/pussy every chance he got. Refused to teach me anything because "I'm one a them computer types who don't like to do any real work" (I am a building maintenance director now.)
I still love my mother but she didn't teach me much. One of the most useless things she told me was to be nice to women.
This isnt a sob story but it's more like me acknowledging that there are some decent guys out there from single parent homes. I'll never have the attitude it takes to be a CEO or whatever but I have enough, no woman trying to suck me dry and honestly that's good enough for me
