There is no wage gap, there is an attainment gap. The attainment gap is caused by women having lower iq, being unsuited to teamwork and also unsuited to individual work, being lazy, not wanting to work and/or being socially permitted not to work so there is less expectation that they will work, and most often working less over their lifetimes due to either childcare or just opting out for their own reasons. Also they tend to choose gendered occupations which pay less despite the fact that they have easier access to higher status jobs through diversity programs.
