You love someone. You know they’re not good for you. You know it’s toxic. But you still love them. In your heart you never ever want to have things end with you hating each other. She’s too special. The good times were too good. You don’t want to cheapen the memories. You don’t want to kill them.

Sometimes though, that hate is the only way to move on. To heal. To be better. To live your life as a full person for you. It’s a mental trick. One weird trick! Think of what makes you angry about her. Baste in it. And use the hate and anger to find the courage to end things, and to end that chapter so you can live your best life.

If you’re in a toxic relationship you can’t or don’t know how to end, believe me, you can do it. You will get past the hurt and the heartache. Then you can make yourself the priority and make your dreams come true.

I had to shoot Old Yeller today. It hurts. A lot. But I’m going to be the better for it tomorrow.
