I was browsing and found a experiment very intersting.

A class of children was presented in 2 occasion with food.

The first day was girls day(they had first choice of food) and girls flocked to 2 guys only giving food only to them, expecially one of them. The rest sat alone and resentful.

Then another time it's boys day (they had first choice of food) and thry evenly split not leaving any girl alone and giving a more equal distribution of food.

Brutal. This experiment of course was small scale but it's still tells something. If someone knows the experiment and can link it would be nice since I generalized it too much since that was only what I remember.
