So I just posted this comment and thought it deserved it's own post;
I'm ace since birth. The idea of touching a cunt kind of.. confuses me. Why oh why in the ever loving fuck would I want to touch genitals with someone?? I still masturbate to porn, hentai, furry stuff etc... but I don't get the appeal of masturbating by using someone else's body and trusting/training them to get me off when I can already achieve a better result of doing all the work myself.
However, I'm down with the idea of being in a relationship, even if it's sexless.
Here's the thing, I wholeheartedly believe it's unethical to enter a relationship if you're afraid of being alone because it's unfair to the other person. You should only enter a relationship if you're perfectly fine being single. This is my personal belief that I stand very strongly by.
Of course that raises the question; what's the point of a relationship if you're happy being single? And I thought about this long and hard and I came up with one answer; to receive a benefit that you wouldn't be able to get if you were single.
Of course that raises another question; What is that benefit? And after thinking about this one for a very long time, so far I've been able to separate various answers from a ton of different people in 3 categories;
Negative motivation aka "You'll STOP being punished if you're in a relationship" instead of "You'll START being rewarded if you're in a relationship." There are not benefits at all, they're punishment reduction. But they are 1 of 3 categories nevertheless.
Abstract concepts aka "You'll be complete" or "Your soul will pass through the veil of the subconsciousness of space and time", stuff that loses all sense of credibility once you begin asking for elaboration. It typically turns to negative motivation if you keep pressing.
Genuine, logical benefits aka "You'll be loved" or "You'll have someone to talk to" or "You'll be emotionally supported". The second problem with these is that these are not guarantees, but for the sake of argument, let's say you will get these 100% of the time; the main problem with these is that you do not need a relationship to receive these benefits. You can be loved and supported by family, friends or at least yourself. You can get sex from prostitutes, one-night stands or sex dolls. You can very well open up to friends, family, or even online to people without being in a relationship.
Every logical and factual argument can be defeated with "you don't need a relationship for that." EXCEPT this one; You'll no longer be lonely. (Which you can argue falls under negative motivation, but let's ignore that for the sake of my next argument.)
First, you have family and friends, so you don't have to be lonely. If you don't have them, then you have yourself. Being alone doesn't automatically equate to loneliness. But let's say that you are genuinely lonely and this "benefit" seems to make sense to you. Then you just remember the ethical issue at the beginning; Don't enter a relationship if you're afraid of being alone because it's unfair to the other person.
So think of this post as research I'm doing. I thought it would be interesting to hear MGTOW's arguments for what kind of benefits there are for being in a relationship while making you aware of the 3 categories upfront. This community deserves complete transparency. Cheers!
