They will. My roommate is in tech (researching voice recognition, wrote his thesis / PhD at a university in Germany, now started at Amazon, had offers from Microsoft and apple as well) and he told me that Chinese collegues living in the US were agreeing that China was ahead 2-3 years.

Ai will have great impact on our lives. Depending on how exactly it will turn out (i.e., if an artificial general super intelligence is even possible), the "winner" could take over the world right away, i.e., the ai just hacking every computer on the world within a few minutes / hours.

Or it could just lead to an insane military advantage, I.e., laser weapons, better Kevlar, better armor piercing ammo, better meds (machine learning is already used to generate / evaluate promising materials and drugs), better weather data, better influencing of a foreign countries population via Twitter bots etc etc.

For sure they will. The decadent western democracies will lose the battle against disciplined nations of the east. Just look at what they're doing to society with their modern SJW/feminazi narratives - deconstruction of the nuclear family, destruction of morals (noone knows anymore what's right or wrong, everything is a matter of perspective), hypersexuality. Their modern narrative is a weakness, not a strenght, and it will cost them.

As much as you love the assasins from Assasin's Creed, the Templar order of things is the way to go if you want a successful country.
