Just imagine this with reversed genders. Seriously, imagine a man writing to "Dear Mariella", telling her about his almost perfect girlfriend who he is a little bit annoyed by because of her chewing noises and the way she dresses.

The editor of the Guardian would never let that get published. Never, ever.

But, alas, genders are not reversed and here's a woman complaining about a man … and what do we all know is true about men? Yes, they're disposable.
