Curious 1AM thoughts, please don't interpret as anything more.

I feel like a lot of the times when you read about women horror stories online (anywhere from "generic shitty manipulative girlfriend who was nice at first" tales to "false accusations that ruined my life" text walls), the girl is either 1) diagnosed BPD or 2) the author gives away enough traits that could warrant an armchair BPD diagnosis quite easily so long as you know what to look for.

Speaking with a psych friend, the diagnosis is publicly listed at 2% of the general population, but private estimates put this number at 10-15%. Meaning 1 out of every 10 girls you come across in your day to day travels, legitimately requires psychiatric care and could potentially destroy your life if you get too close.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the rise in popularity of MGTOW.

With those numbers, if you're not dating a girl with the disorder, at least one of your friends is, or they know a friend of a friend and the info has been passed through the grapevine back to you.

These stories are the exchanged with friends and coworkers and family and randoms online (hey, that's us). The conclusion drawn is "oh jesus, women as a whole are fucked and I need to do my own thing for a while", which isn't really the worst idea in the world (hence mgtow), but the underlying issue is that there's just a massive portion of the female population who are legitimately mentally ill.

Thoughts?
