A cousin of mine is getting just got married as I am writing this. We’re not that close but he seemed to be enjoying life previously. He’s the oldest and all his siblings are already married with kids. But he was doing his own thing, living in a bachelor apartment, travels a lot, and otherwise working.

But then he meets this girl, whatever, it is was it is. I’ve met the bride only once, about a year ago. They were only dating then for maybe less than a year. She seemed nice enough but I talked to her for literally 10 seconds.

Like I said we’re not that close so during the reception, I learn that the girl has a kid from a previous relationship, and then to top that, they announce there’s another one on the way, which might explain the hasty preparations. This is all shocking news to me since I try to stay out of the family gossip pipeline, but I managed to keep a straight face.

Just wanted to report this situation to y’all out there. To sum up, I should have gotten him a condolence card instead of a wedding card. The cake was good, though.
