Youngest daughter (now 17) had the opportunity seven years ago to sail with our eldest daughter (now 28) on a naval vessel from Hawaii to San Diego provided that I could get her to Hawaii. At the time I didn’t have a car or license so my ex said that she’d drive the hundred plus miles to LAX to get our daughter and I to the flight out, and then get me back home when I returned.

Needless to say she didn’t bother bringing me home. I must have looked pretty fucking comical when I called her to learn that she wasn’t there and that she wasn’t coming. That little stunt among others over the last ten years REALLY pissed me off.

Fast forward seven years; our youngest (turning 18 next month) is off to Navy boot camp (DEP program) and the ex, living in a shitty RV in a shitty RV park with a SERIOUSLY worthless penis who doesn’t work receives a letter from the DA. They’re going to garnish her wages an additional $500 in November for her share of our daughter’s health care costs these last four years that I’ve had custody.

So she calls me and asks me to call the DA and tell them that our youngest has joined the Navy and that I’m okay with them foregoing any remaining collection. And it all comes back. All the grief, all the despair, all the anger from when she divorced me and took our four youngest daughters away. All the shit she put me through. LAX was among the most egregious but hardly isolated. When she married her penis (who had a history of questionable behavior with his daughter) I got custody of our girls but I didn’t ask for support from her. The only reason the DA got involved is because after the divorce SHE went to he DA and tried to get a support order against ME only to discover that I’d just been declared totally disabled.

When she divorced me she told me that she didn’t want me to love her. Now, ten years later, she got what she asked for. I hope she’s fucking happy.
