Well, it happened. I met a straight, 18 year old man who told me his university major is Women's Studies. He told me he believes it is the most important subject a man or woman can learn about, and spoke at length about the injustices that women face, that virtually nobody is aware of.

There are a number of men in this community who, perhaps sometimes warranted, could give fuck-all about another young man's journey. I understand being a lone wolf, but I also think I have an obligation to encourage and remind other men, particularly young men, of their value and their rights, and to plant a seed in their minds.

I listened to him for some time - although it took everything within me not to reach out and shake him - and then brought up a few points, and made sure to mention some tangible things that have taken place against men's rights.

I'm wondering what other's experiences have been in situations like this, and what some of you find is the best way to go about talking to guys like this without going full-on crazy with them.

** What a seriously disappointing group of responses. We spend so much time in these groups, building eachother up by encouraging and warning. I know I don't owe this guy anything, and I know I'm not going to be rocking his world within our small exchange, but some of the responses to my question are a tad defeatist. If there's anything that women have been good at, which has gotten them to where they are now, it's that they build community and support with eachother. And if there's anything that is our downfall as men, it's that we genuinely don't give a shit about eachother. Sad to see that so clearly in some of these comments.
